A very special relationship of ours, we met years back while working for another company. Led by a woman with over 20 years of experience, whom moved to NYC in 2004 in pursuit of opening her own atelier. Now in a studio space on 38th Street in the heart of the garment district, where she creates beautifully constructed woven garments with the most meticulous eye for detail.
She is incredibly passionate about the work she creates, and with three women and two men by her side, each specializing in a specific part of the garment making process. Every garment is reviewed and quality controlled by her team to ensure it meets their expectations before it leaves their hands.
We have a deep trust in knowing that there is endless care for each other and the process of creating high quality garments in a slow intentional way, where each person is treated like family.

A partner who is very dear to us, one who has been instrumental in our development and creation of beautiful leather goods and accessories. Led by a man whom has dedicated his life to the trade, and to creating the most high quality leather goods over the recent decades. Each person who works for him is like family, having been with him from inception of his atelier, with each a master of a stage in the production process.
With knowing him for years before opening Matinale, we have continued to learn from him with each piece we've made together. Discovering new capabilities and techniques with each collection, and continuing to reach a new level of quality and excellence. He is extremely creative and has incredible insight with the development and construction of each piece, which has enabled us to grow into new product lines together.
He sources all of our leathers, as we entrust him to select the highest quality skins in the most beautiful colors. All of which are sourced from local vendors in NYC, to continue to invest in our local community.

Each of our unique crochet pieces, created from repurposed found textiles, are selected and created by hand in our Brooklyn Studio. Each piece meant to be special and unlike any other, with an ode to the past. For layering, for fun, and forever.
